Shadow Puppets
This was a workshop I facilitated while working with Fresh Film in 2019. This shadow puppet workshop ran in conjunction with a screening of Lottie Reiniger’s silouette animation, “The Adventures of Prince Achmed”. The workshop took place in a library in Co.Limerick with a group of 15 children aged from 4 to 7. The children were encouraged to create characters and props using the animation as inspiration and then cut each silhouette out on pieces of card and glued on to lollipop sticks. We had a filming corner which had low lighting and a backdrop where we would light their characters and film their characters shadows with the children voicing and controlling them.

Optical Toys
In the summer of 2020 I put together a video of a workshop to be sent out to schools. Originally the workshop was to be delivered in schools but due to Covid19 we adjusted it to be delivered digitally. I shot the workshop and edited the footage. The workshop teaches practical animation techniques such as creating a flip book, a zoetrope and a thaumatrope.
The Source Summer Youth Project 2019
I worked as an assistant designer and workshop facilitator for the Source Summer Youth Project 2019 "The Eagle has Landed". The camp drew inspiration the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landings to create art and a theatre production over the course of a week.
The Source Summer Youth Project 2017
I interned as a workshop facilitator for the Source Summer Youth Project 2017 "To Go North is to Go South". The camp welcomed participants from the local area and from Catalonia and students created works of art and a theatre production from a creative tourist trail around Thurles, Co. Thurles
